Online: to use your Powell's Gift or eGift card toward a purchase at Powells.com, simply enter the card number into the gift card field during the checkout process.
In stores: simply present your Powell's Gift or eGift card as payment at the register.

Is the login information on the gift card portal the same as my Powell’s login information?
It is a different login than your Powells.com account. The gift card portal has a separate, secure login through our card issuer, Givex. While you don’t need to create an account with them to purchase a gift card, doing so is a great way to keep track of your gift card orders.

I’ve received a gift card. Is there any benefit to creating an account with Givex?
Creating an account through Givex allows you to manage your current gift cards. This includes the ability to transfer balances between cards, and the ability to report a card as lost, so you don’t lose that balance.

Is there a shipping charge for mailing a physical gift card to its recipient?
The shipping charge for physical gift cards purchased through the portal is $1.49.Sending an eGift card to the recipient’s email has no associated charge.

What are the balance limitations for gift cards?
Minimum value you can load on a gift card: $10.00
Maximum value you can load on a gift card: $250.00
Maximum number of cards that can be purchased in a single order: 20 cards
Maximum order value: $1,000.00

Do I have to spend the whole value of the gift card at once?
No, you don’t need to spend the entire amount on your card all at once. You can shop as often as you like until the balance is used up. You're also always welcome to add additional funds to your card.

What if I lose my gift card?
Please treat your gift card as cash, as it will not be replaced if lost, UNLESS you have registered the card through the Givex portal, which allows you to report a card as lost so long as the balance hasn’t been used prior to the report.

Do the funds on the gift card expire?
No, the funds on the gift card do not expire.

Can merchandise purchased with the gift card be returned?
Absolutely. All purchases made with the gift card are subject to our return policies.

Can a charge made with the gift card be disputed?
No. Purchases made with the gift card are similar to those made with cash, in that you cannot "stop payment" or lodge a "billing dispute" on purchases.

If you would like to pick up a Powell's Gift Card at the store, there's no need to place an order for it online. You can simply go to any register in our stores and purchase a traditional Powell's Gift Card.
